Shamanic Sound Journey: Arian Mortazavi Sarrafan & Pitt Ewart

Oriental Sound Journey: Ancient Altered States with Arian Mortazavi Sarrafan & Pitt Ewart

A sonic temple woven with sound and the spaces between. It is a space, created through music, that opens the door to altered states of being.

"Arian offers listeners a doorway into another world. Come to his events to collaborate in imagining what that world is and building this portal together. We all hold a candle that lights up our journeys. Arian’s candle is his music"

Aleksandr Bulkin - Tech Entrepreneur & Conscious Visionary

What is this?

An Oriental Sound Journey is a deep listening experience using ancient acoustic instruments from Persian, Azeri, Indian, Sufi and other Eastern traditions — carefully curated and combined to form a rich and evocative soundscape. Over 30 instruments are played live in real-time, moving as one continuous river of sound for the duration of the session.

Through intuitive layering and gentle, spacious flow, the music invites you into a state of altered consciousness — a shift that often feels natural, warm, and expansive.

There is no intention to direct or guide you to a specific outcome.

In this state, whatever needs to arise often does — whether that is deep rest, insight, emotional release, inspiration, stillness, subtle energy movement, or even visionary experiences. But none of these are the goal.

The music is simply the bridge.

What you meet on the other side is yours.

You are invited to come as you are — to lie down, receive, and be met by the sound in your own unique way.

Karola Szoke - Mother, Somatic Movement Facilitator

"When being in that intimate yet shared space that Arian creates with his music, sounds, presence, I instantly drop into my authentic, creative essence. By the beauty of the music my attention is drawn organically to my inner movements while feeling wide-awakened. His sound journeys are great portals for me to connect my inner world to my outer world, to be fully awake, playful, present."

About the Facilitators

Arian

Arian is an artist, musical researcher, and sound practitioner working with Persian, Azeri, and other indigenous musical traditions. He grew up in London, where Persian classical music and Spanish guitar first opened his heart to sound. Over time, he explored various musical expressions — from piano and guitar to DJing and electronic music production — eventually weaving these threads together to serve one deeper intention: connecting to the divine beauty of life through ancient and modern cultural technologies.

In 2018, he began a more inward path, exploring meditation, shadow work, tantra, ancestral healing, and sacred plant work — all of which deepened his relationship to sound as a vehicle for presence and transformation. Since then, he’s been devoted to the study of traditional instruments, melodies, stories, and rhythms from his heritage. Today, he lives between Iran and Portugal, sharing his music across Europe through both meditative journeys and emotionally powerful live sets.

“Success, for me, is when everyone can hear their own self, their soul, in the music.”

Pitt

Pitt’s journey began in Australia with long-distance running, Shaolin martial arts, and studies in acupuncture, Taoist medicine, and philosophy. Over the past 25 years, he has immersed in Sufi teachings, the Gurdjieff Work, and yoga — each one guiding him deeper into the nature of being.

Eight years ago, he entered into a dedicated relationship with ayahuasca, studying and assisting traditional ceremonies across the world. Having facilitated or supported over 2,000 circles, he brings a grounded, seasoned presence to his work.

As a multi-instrumentalist, Pitt integrates guitar, piano, frame drum, didgeridoo, sitar, and flutes into his ceremonies and sound offerings. His music, like his presence, is a channel for reconnection, realignment, and deep inner listening.

Reviews:

Barbara Amaral - Student

"I was told that this was a journey, and I couldn’t have imagined any experience quite like it. As the sound started, its waves would go through my body, deep into my cells, like water running in intricate patterns, and I was shown what emotional and spiritual parts in me needed healing at that moment. Deep inside I knew that this healing was already in place, operated by sound. I was then taken back, travelling through times and places, revisiting some of my past lives in different countries. The energy was so powerful, and my emotions so intense, that I fell asleep for a while, waking up later by the sound of a gong and Arian’s beautiful voice. I was then shown a lesson to work on: to focus more on the positive things and to have more fun, essentially, to celebrate life. Sound healing was a profound experience for me, and I recommend it to everyone. I’ll definitely keep on travelling like this."

"The sound journey from Arian was true magic. I can’t really explain it with words, but I went into a very deep state where I was able to heal something I didn’t even know was there—and that was very beautiful. It was deep, and it was calm. I really wish to come again."

"Something I can truly say about Arian’s sound journeys is that they feel like experiencing a living landscape—one that is always different. Each time brings new colors, shapes, movements, and formations. Sometimes it feels like wind moving down a mountain or flowing through a valley. It’s never the same.

When I listen to Arian’s music, I feel like I’m observing a landscape and at the same time being gently guided through it by the music itself. It’s always a very expansive experience—very nourishing—because the music comes from the heart."
